Computer Vision Laboratory at Hacettepe University (HUCVL) focuses on developing effective techniques and tools for enabling machines to better interpret and understand visual data. The group was formed in 2012 and is comprised of several faculty members and undergraduate and graduate students within the Department of Computer Engineering, conducting research in the field of computer vision, machine learning and multimedia data mining.
Their research spans a broad range of topics including action and activity recognition, computational visual attention, historical document analysis, image editing, language and vision, large scale object and scene recognition, video summarization.

Multimedia Information Retrieval (MIR) is a research discipline of computer science that aims at extracting semantic information from multimedia data sources. Data sources include directly perceivable media such as audio, image and video, indirectly perceivable sources such as text, bio-signals as well as not perceivable sources such as bio-information, stock prices, etc.
HUMIR Lab's goal is to research in basic and applied information retrieval topics, working in close collaboration with industries to transfer its research results. Much of our MIR research has been directed at the fundamental issues of text representation, query acquisition, and retrieval models that form the basis of all search engines.
Research on autonomous systems has always been a hot topic as the ingredients leading to autonomy are getting more complicated and more versatile than their a-decade-long ancestors. A combination of sensors, actuators, processing units, software solutions and storage devices is needed in an autonomous system yet autonomy is observed when the system is capable of giving decisions under a set of circumstances and adapting itself to interpolate between local decisions. The spectrum ranges from aerial robots to self-sufficient software agents.

Hacettepe University's Software Engineering Research Group (HUSE) is an industry-oriented research group. It is affiliated with the Department of Computer Science/Engineering.
The group's overall objective is to develop new methodologies and tools to develop higher quality industrial software-intensive systems in a cost-effective manner.
