During distance education, we are deprived of many opportunities that we have in face-to-face education. To change this; we formed the "Graduate Ice Breaker" group that we will use to meet, to share information, to share course contents, to discuss and to work together. AIN200 course has been moved to 09:00 - 12:00 on Wednesday morning. The section of MAT254-02 (BBM) will be done on Wednesday morning. MAT254-01 (BBM) and 03 (AIN) sections will be done together on Wednesday afternoon between 13:00 and 16:00.

Graduate Admission Exam Announcement
Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, we will carry out the written and oral exams for the admission to our 2020-2021 Spring Semester graduate program online. We will make all the announcements about the graduate admission on our website (cs.hacettepe.edu.tr). For this reason, please follow our website. You can also ask your questions by writing to the mail address of our Graduate Coordinator (bbm-lisansustu@cs.hacettepe.edu.tr).
Gradescope will be used for the written exam and Zoom will be used for both the written and the oral exam. For the written exam, you must register as a student for the course we have opened on Gradescope. To register, the course information is described as Entry Code: P5YYPY and the Course Name: 2020-2021 Spring Graduate Entrance Written Exam. Zoom meeting links will be announced on this page in the upcoming days.
By the end of February, 8 (the day of the written exam), you must have uploaded your letter of intent (written in English) requested from you for the oral exam via Gradescope. 2 reference letters must be sent to apply.cs.hacettepe@gmail.com by the referees until the end of February, 8. Candidates who do not take the written exam or who are missing any of the required documents lose their right to take the oral exam.

BBM325/425 Internship Courses Announcement (in Turkish)
Pandemi koşulları nedeniyle yaz stajını yapamamış ve zorunlu olduğu için BBM325/425 derslerini Güz dönemi karnesine eklemek zorunda kalmış öğrencilerin dikkatine!
BBM325/425 staj derslerinin sistemdeki özelliği değiştirilerek, 2021 Güz dönemine kadar not girilebilmesi sağlanmıştır. Böylece, eğer öğrenci yaz stajını yapamamışsa, öğrencinin staj dersi notu bu dönem sonunda girilmeyecektir. Öğrenci 2021 yazında stajını tamamlayıp belgelerini bölüme teslim ettiğinde ders notu girişi yapılacaktır. Yani öğrencinin karnesinde F notu görünmeden stajını 2021 yazında tamamlaması sağlanacaktır.
Ayrıca, BBM325/425 staj derslerinin kredisi öğrencinin dönemsel toplam kredisi içinde görünmeyecektir. Fakat bu işlem önümüzdeki hafta yapılabileceği için, bu hafta öğrencilerin dönemsel toplam kredisi içinde staj derslerinin kredisi görülecektir. Ekle-sil haftasında, toplam krediden düşülen staj dersleri yerine öğrenciler karnelerine başka ders ekleyebilecektir.

Graduate Admissions Written Exam Announcement
Attention to Those Taking Graduate Admission Online Written Exam
On Wednesday, 23.09.2020, we will hold the online written exam in two sessions, 09:45-10:25 and 10:35-11:15. Your answer sheet for the first session will be uploaded in pdf, jpeg or png format in the form of name_surname to the dropbox file linked below until 10:35, and your answer sheet for the second session will be uploaded until 11:25 at the latest. Answer sheets loaded after these periods will not be evaluated and your exam will be considered invalid. In the first 15 minutes of the exam, the attendance will be taken, and the candidates participating in the session are required to write their names and surnames in the chat section, and then, in order in the chat, they should show their candidate application forms and IDs to their cameras and say their names and surnames. Zoom sessions where candidates will take the written exam are located next to their names in the shared excel file. After the first session is over, the second session will be attended via the same link.

Uzaktan eğitimle sürdürdüğümüz 2019-20 bahara yarıyılının final sınavları da uzaktan yapılacaktır. Bu koşullar içinde sağlıklı bir sınav ortamı oluşturmak ve sürdürmek karşılıklı özen ve hassasiyetle sağlanabilecek bir durumdur. Arasınavlar ile bizlerin ve sizlerin edindiği tecrübelerden hareketle bu duyuruyu yapma zaruriyeti oluşmuştur. Final sınavlarının tamamında geçerli olan kurallar şu biçimdedir:
- Tüm sınavlar ders sorumlusunun/sorumlularının belirleyeceği çevrim içi ortamda yapılacak olup, sınava giren öğrencilerin kameralarını sınav süresince açık bırakmaları ve soruları cevaplarken kamera önünde olmaları zorunludur.
- Çevrimiçi sınav oturumu ders sorumlusu/sorumluları tarafından kayıt altına alınacak ve saklanacaktır.

Umarım iyisinizdir ve kendinize dikkat ediyorsunuzdur, edin lütfen. Hepimizin, ailemizin,aile büyüklerimizin ve birbirimizin sağlığına karşı sorumluluk duymak zorundayız.
Ülkemizde yaşanan salgın sebebiyle hep birlikte yeni bir sürece ve işleyişe hızlıca evrilmek zorunda kaldık. Pek tabi ki; mühendisler olarak adaptasyonu güçlü insanlarız, üstesinden geleceğiz. Bildiğiniz üzere uzaktan eğitime geçiyoruz. Üniversitemiz henüz kesin başlangıç tarihimizi ilan etmedi ama öngörümüz 1 hafta içinde gerçekleşeceği yönünde, ilan edildiğinde haberiniz olacak, duyuracağım. Genel olarak, tüm derslerimizi uzaktan eğitime açıyoruz. Hocalarımız sizlere çevrim dışı sayısal eğitim içeriğini, seslendirme ile zenginleştirdikleri sunumlarını yayınlayacaklar. Hem bölüm imkanlarını hem de üniversite imkanlarını birlikte kullanacağız (Piazza ve Blackboard gibi görünüyor, son duyuruyu yapacağım). Her bir ders sorumlusu hocamız haftanın ilk günü (pazartesi) sayısal içeriğini paylaşacak, sizler o içeriği çalışıp daha sonra haftalık ders saatlerinizde Hocalarımızla birlikte soru cevap yapacağınız bir telekonferans (Zoom) gerçekleştireceksiniz. Laboratuvar uygulamamız çevrim içi submit ile devam edecek. Proje dersi için bire bir proje danışmanı ile iletişime geçmeniz gerekiyor.

Important Announcement Related to MÜH 103 Occupational Health and Safety - I:
- HAS 222 and HAS 223 courses are removed from the curriculum. Instead of these courses, MÜH 103 and MÜH 104 courses are added to the curriculum.
- MÜH 103 course is equivalent to HAS 222. MÜH 104 course is equivalent to HAS 223.
- Our students will take MÜH 103 instead of HAS 222 this semester. Students who fail HAS 222 are required to take MÜH 103 course. The numerical code for MÜH103 is 310103.

For the new studenss who will start in 2017-2018 Fall Semester
For the current students at the department , information about BBM419 HAS coded courses and SEC coded courses is updated.
Announcement of simultaneous technical elective courses
Students who failed one of the concurrent technical elective courses and labs taken together: A student who has failed in one of the simultaneous technical elective courses and labs, if he /she is graduated in the fall semester of 2017-2018 and the course has not opened , can do the following:
- If they have not reached the 3-course deletion quota, they may be able to remove the course they have failed. It is sufficient to apply to the department's secretariat by submitting a course deletion request (Form7- http://www.muhfak.hacettepe.edu.tr/tr/menu/ogrencilerimiz_icin-56 ).
- If they have reached the 3-course deletion quota and they are "eligible to graduate" in the fall semester of 2017-2018, they may take another technical elective course / lab instead of the technical elective course / lab they have failed. In this case, they need to submit an application after registering for the replacement course. These students must indicate the course they have failed and the course they are taking to replace it, and must have their advisor approve the application in which "eligible to graduate" should be clearly stated. Note1: If the course that students want to take instead of the technical elective course / lab they failed has another simultaneous course stated in the curriculum, they must take that course as well.
Note 2: If the students can not complete the necessary course credit with all the courses they have taken in this semester, they will not be eligible to graduate. Even if the students will have only one course left at the end of the Fall semester and will be entitled to one course exam, the Dean's Office has announced that they will not accept these applications.

According to the world ranking of 2016-2017 prepared by the URAP Research Laboratory which is operating within the METU Informatics Institute, there are 6 universities in the first 1000 of our country in the field of Computer and Informatics Sciences. Our university was 629th in the world and 5th in Turkey. Computer Engineering Graduate Reasearch Workshop and Senior Projects Exhibition
Bölümümüz tarafından geçtiğimiz yıl birincisini düzenlediğimiz, “Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Lisansüstü Araştırmaları Çalıştayı ve Bitirme Projesi Sergisi” etkinliğimizin, 5 Mayıs 2017 Cuma günü ikincisini düzenliyoruz. Lisansüstü çalışmalar yanında, lisans bitirme projelerinden oluşan bir poster sergisi ile bölümdeki faaliyetleri tanıttığımız bu etkinliğimizde, sizleri de aramızda görmekten mutluluk duyacağız.

HUPROG’17(Hacettepe University Programming Contest) has been completed succesfully.
HUPROG’17(Hacettepe University Programming Contest) organised by ACM HACETTEPE hosted the best programmers in Turkey.
The contest got 105 applications as a team of maximum 3 people from 35 universities. Any student (graduate or undergraduate) who trustes their ability to write algorithms had the chance to apply. At the prelection (April 1rst) 15 teams who made it to the top had the chance to compete at the final stage which was at the 7th of april 13.00 at Hacettepe Teknokent. At the final stage the teams had 24 hours to complete their algorithms. In the final stage, three teams that finished the questions prepared by ‘Question Team of ACM HACETTEPE’ faster got the total prize of 6000TL.

Introducing DREAM - Our New Undergraduate Research Experience Program
We are happy to announce the launch of a new undergraduate research experience program, which we named DREAM. This voluntary program will give our undergraduate students an opportunity to participate in faculty-mentored research projects, and encourage them to consider research as a potential career. Our students Mesut Erhan Unal, Begum Citamak and Semih Yagcioglu (under supervision of Aykut Erdem, Erkut Erdem, Nazlı İkizler Cinbiş and Ruket Çakıcı (METU)) won Alper Atalay Best Student Paper Award (First Prize) at the 24th IEEE Conference on Signal Processing and Communications Applications (SIU 2016). At the same conference, Berkan Demirel (under supervision of Nazlı İkizler Cinbiş and Gökberk Cinbiş (Bilkent University)) won Alper Atalay Best Student Paper Award (Third Prize), and Göksu Erdoğan and Bora Çelikkale (under supervision of Aykut Erdem and Erkut Erdem) won IEEE Best Student Paper Award (Second Prize). Dr. Mehmet Koseoglu has been selected to receive a Google Internet of Things (IoT) Technology Research Award.
Google started the award program with the goal of fostering collaboration with the academic community for developing innovative applications and addressing technical challenges regarding the emerging Internet of Things ecosystem.
